Serving God.

Yep, Never done that before.

Diane and I visited Memorial Baptist Church in Sterling Heights, this past Sunday. We were members there for over 13 years and served in various ministries; I served in the Deacon ministry, Deaf Ministry, and Sunday School.  Diane served with the Youth and Music ministry.

Memorial had a “drive in service” or you could bring lawn chairs.  It was great!  The weather was good and it was great to see our friends.

We sat in our lawn chairs, some who sat in their cars would acknowledge Pastor Herb’s comments by blowing their horn…..About 1/2 way through the service I realized I could blow our horn using the lock button on my remote for the car….You know just to give an auditory “Amen”.

It was a great Lord’s Day.

God Bless

Stay Safe.

“No Commendation” Sermon November 1, 2015 FBC Clio

My message Sunday was taken from the text Romans 8:1-4

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

We understand from Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”

Since Christ Has Come, A Most Wonderful Thing Has Happened.

We Are Freed From Condemnation: !

 Since Christ Has Come;

The People Who Believe In Christ Are Not Condemned.

 Very simply stated,

The person who is in Christ is “safe and secure from all alarms” from

Condemnation now and forever.

–>He will not be judged as a sinner;

–>He will not face condemnation.

Prayer, “Father thank you for your plan of reconciliation and salvation.”

This is my introduction to my message I shared on September 27, 2015 / The Day after our Annual Car Show at FBC

This is my introduction to my message I shared on September 27, 2015

It was the day after First Baptist Church of Clio’s annual car show.

It really was a fantastic event.  I heard a lot of positive feed back from many who attended the show. I believe that it is an important event for the community.

One of the ministries of this church is the annual car show.

Some might suggest that the time and money involved does not justify having such events.

I think that “The Church” has received many wrong evaluations

In this day and age.

Some say that The Church is too separated from the reality of

Of life today,

Yesterday, and events like the car show I believe helps us bring

The culture back to the church and weave them together.

I believe that not one person was

  • hit over the head with a bible”
  • Not one person was “shamed into” coming to our church.

I do believe that many relationships were created or supported.

The world needs HOPE,

  • The World Needs CHRIST,
    • We need to share Christian love,
    • One car show at a time,
    • One fish fry at a time
    • One July 4th parking lot party at a time…..
    • And So On…at a time

These of course should not be our only forms of outreach.

Speaking with the person you regularly see

  • at the store or
  • at the gas station or
  • the coffee shop
  • or at work or
  • at school as you drop the kids or
    • grand kids off
  • Are very effective ways of sharing about your life in Christ or
    • About your church.

We may never know the spiritual impact

That was made yesterday…..

One regret I have is this,

You know that the POPE is in the US, Right?

I noticed he did not come yesterday,

I did not hear anyone say that they had invited him.

Next year BUTCH, a personal invitation please……

Our desire is of course is that.

  • Someone might come to Saving Knowledge of Jesus Christ through the efforts of the car show.
  • Or that someone might come and visit our church.
  • Or maybe talk to others about our church.
  • Or in a time of need contact our church.

Again we might never realize what God might do or has done

  • Because of what was done here, at His House, in His parking lot.

I am not making a “prophetic” statement but

I do believe that the events of yesterday had Heavenly, kingdom,

          Spiritual significance.

God brings different people to his church with different

Gifts and abilities.

  • We are all different.
    • But I want to share with you
      • We all need to be ready if people do come,
      • Ready to warmly greet people who are
        • First time visitors
        • Returning past members

And I would ask that not one pretend to hold up the roof if someone comes who has not been here for a while.

First Baptist Church Clio-Transitional Pastor

Many people ask, “just what is a transitional pastor”.  A transitional pastor is trained and experienced at serving churches who’s pastor has left, for what ever reason.

The TP works with the church to prepare it to call the man God has prepared for the church.

It is a time of healing, a time for the church to look at it’s self to understand their history. To evaluate the churches ministries to understand how effective the church is with Kingdom a Work.

Please pray for FBC Clio as we prepare to receive God’s blessings.
